IFP/SEATTLE ANNOUNCES 2010 SPOTLIGHT AWARD FINALISTS

Five Northwest Filmmakers To Interview for Production Grant

Seattle, WA (October 7, 2010) – The IFP/Seattle today announced the five finalists for this year’s Spotlight Award, a production grant featuring thousands of dollars of in-kind goods and services from the leading Northwest production companies. This year’s finalists are:

“Forced Entry” from Joe Jacobs
“Going Home” from Justin Burris McGowan
“It’s For You” from Laura Jean Cronin
“Outside Experts” from Ilona Rossman Ho
“Pretty Face and Green My Eyes” from Sam Graydon

Each finalist and the principals from his / her production team will be interviewed by a panel of industry experts and the winner will be announced at a public event on November 10th. Details about the event to follow.

Caroline Colon, IFP/Seattle Board Member and Programming Director: “The IFP Spotlight award is a centerpiece of our programming. This unique grant program allows filmmakers the opportunity to build on a solid script by getting access to top-notch equipment and resources to support them in the creative process. The result is a professional short film that showcases the talent of the Northwest."

Past award winners include Tim Watkins’ “Photo Booth” (currently in production), “Night Blind” from Robert Parks, “Dry Rain” from Matthew Clark, starring James LeGros, Cheryl Slean’s “Diggers,” Dan Brown’s animated “Pierre” and John Helde’s “Hello,” starring Eric Stoltz.

This year’s IFP/Seattle Spotlight Award is being sponsored by: Alpha Cine Labs, Clatter + Din, Eastman Kodak, Ken Coble – Location Scout, Lance Rosen, Modern Digital, Oppenheimer Cine Rental and Seattle Grip and Lighting.
